Table Etiquette

I’ve been giving refinement classes since I was 16 years old, at the day I’ve given classes in 5 different refinement academies and 1 college. Currently I’m giving classes at A & N Models Academy, a modeling and refinement school created by my mother and me. So trust me in this topic.

First you need to know the DON’TS

DON’T PUT MAKEUP ON THE TABLE.

DON’T BRUSH YOUR HAIR.

DON’T SPEAK WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL.

DON’T COUGH WITHOUT A NAPKIN.

DON’T PLAY WITH THE FOOD.

DON’T PLAY WITH THE SILVERWARE.

DON’T CLEAN YOUR MOUTH WITH YOUR HANDS (WITHOUT THE NAPKIN).

DON’T PUT YOUR ELBOWS ON THE TABLE.

DON’T CHEW WITH YOUR MOUTH OPEN.

DON’T USE THE CELLPHONE WHILE PEOPLE ARE TALKING TO YOU.

DON’T ARGUE AT THE TABLE.

DON’T PLAY WITH STRAW.

DON’T TOUCH THE FOOD WITH YOUR HANDS.

DON’T PUT THE NAPKIN IN THE NECK

DON’T TRY TO TAKE THINGS THAT ARE TO FAR AWAY IN THE TABLE. (ASK FOR SOMEONE TO PASS IT)

DON’T START EATING ALONE.

SIMPLE RULES

-SIT IN THE FRONT CORNER OF THE CHAIR AND GENTLY PUSH YOURSELF BACK WITHOUT TOCHING THE CHAIR WITH YOUR BACK.

-AS SOON AS YOU SIT PUT THE NAPKIN ON YOUR LAP.

-SIT STRAIGHT.

-WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE THEIR FOOD TO START EATING.

-WHEN YOU START EATING THE CUTLERY REPOSES ON THE PLATE.

-IF SOMEONE IS HOSTING WAIT TO BE SEATED MAYBE THEY HAVE SEATING ARRANGEMENTS.

THE LANGUAGE OF CUTLERY

THIS IS A SIMPLE SETTING

THIS SETTING IS MISSING THE SPOON, BUT JUST TO EXPLAIN, THE SPOON GOES ON THE RIGHT WITH THE KNIFE.
